Let's meet Francesca Ferretti

🔨What project are you working on that you’re most excited about?

I’m super excited about this project titled “The B-side of the vinyl”. A documentary about women in music from the ‘600 until today. It’s more than a documentary, it’s a movement and the way the story is told is different! Women have been inVISIBLE for a very long time in many fields but because I love music I focused in this field. Although we see more and more women reach success, the music business is still a men’s world and that’s the reason I wanted to tell the story showcasing incredible talents often time in the shadows. It’s my labour of love and as Gloria Steinem once said: "We have always been an equal part of the past. We just haven't been a part of history.”

Today I say:

“Let’s make history!”

👀What makes you feel visible?

My creativity is my outlet and it is when I create that I feel the most visible. 

🌈If you could connect with one woman, who would that be and what would you say?

This is a tough one has there are lot’s of names that come to my mind, but at this point in my life I’ll have to choose Barbra Streisand. Part because I’m emotionally attached to her music and all the “memory” that I hold tight into my heart but also because I admire her tenacity, creativity and her hugeeeee talent. I’ll have to ask her how she got to make it as a director in a world ruled by men followed by thousands of more questions.

🌱What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?

Always remember that to be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else will be your greatest accomplishment. It’s  a quote I read a while back from R.W. Emerson that I found very profound and true.
