Let's meet Alessia Moccia
🔨What project are you working on that you’re most excited about?
I'm overly passionate about photography. I was pretty familiar with this field as an art director and fashion editor. I missed staying behind the camera, and after studying it, I now create an NFT photo collection called EuphoriaNFT. The two principal collections, Damn Ocean Drive and Damn Milky Way are ongoing photoshoots of standalone collectible photos from my everyday imagination. The collections represent my vision of the authentic and imaginary world.
NFT is my passion because it is revolutionary. I want to know everything about it and stand up for it. To support all women is my new mission. I would be present in any way to build a solid community of women. I grew up in a 80's Rome capital, where the power was in men's hands, where women were judged and bound to lower roles. Now, we can become independent, powerful and visible.
👀What makes you feel visible?
My Sony camera, my intuition.
Photography allows me to shout out everything I kept inside of me for so many years, and only now do I really understand the power of my voice and how it feels to be an empowering woman.
I love being part of this community that aligns with my values: inclusivity, women's support, love, equality, respect, courage, and generosity.
My intuition allows me to watch the world with a curious and attentive mindset.
🌈 If you could connect with one woman, who would that be and what would you say?
I would speak to Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie and Maria Grazia Chiuri. They inspired me through an interview I read many years ago. The idea of feminism is limited by stereotypes. Many women are still scared that being a feminist means being mean, angry, and hating men. This is a big obstacle for them to share their ideas and values. I would ask to Chimamanda and Maria Grazia to keep saying that we should all be feminists through fashion, politics, social media and raise children with new grace and respect.
🌱 What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
Speak aloud, believe in yourself, don't please people.
And if your accent is not perfect, be proud of it. At least you know other languages.
