⭐️What project are you working on that you’re most excited about?
As a student at NYU with an individualized major in “The Gendering of Media,'' I am so honored to be contributing content to Visible Women NFT. I intend to share feminist media across genres: film, tv, music & literature. From my study of superstar DJs, I discovered largely unknown female DJs whose pioneering, amazing, diverse music and accomplishments were marginalized in the male dominated music industry. I am also researching feminist filmmakers who are often overlooked by mainstream media and the film industry. I am excited to bring visibility to all of their work. In my spare time (lol), I am a chef of a vegan gluten free banana bread business, VGF Cookshop.
👀What makes you feel visible?
I feel visible when people actively listen to me speak and want to hear about my passions not just to be polite. I feel visible when people care what I think and value my opinion because of who I am as a person, not because of any other factor.
🤝If you could connect with one woman, who would that be and what would you say?
I would love to connect with Mindy Kaling. I am so inspired by the work she is doing with her production company Kaling International. I especially love her show The Sex Lives of College Girls. I would tell her how much I admire her comedic talent. A dream job for me would be to work in the writers room for a Mindy Kaling show. I recently created my own TV show bible that I would share with Mindy for her advice and input (and possibly collab🙏🤩).
❤️What piece of advice would you give to your younger self?
I would tell my younger self that there is no correct way to do things and doing the “wrong” or unconventional thing is often good.
