đ¨What project are you working on that youâre most excited about?
Being new to Web3, I feel like I'm still in my exploration phase. So right now I find myself creating/spending extra time to learn more about, invest, and promote other projects. Learning from others definitely makes it easier for me to gain more of an understanding and confidence as I choose to navigate this ecosystem with my own purpose. I do feel like when I end up launching my own project, it will without a doubt involve music, because that's a part of my family's legacy that I would like to transfer onto the blockchain. I'd also like for it to have a philanthropic aspect as well where portions are donated to causes that mean the world to me. I'm really enjoying the process of taking my time to explore all of the possibilities that I can dream up and what exactly my web3 legacy will look like.Â
đWhat makes you feel visible?Â
I feel most visible when I can share my voice within the web3 community spaces. Whether it be in an open forum discussion or open mic, I love sharing my music, my voice and my passion for healing others with music. Receiving real time feedback from my peers and even grammy award winning producers is something I never EVER saw myself participating in a year ago. Yet here we are, and I don't want to wake up if this is a dream. My favorite part of being in web3 is that it's really fostered more communication between individuals that most likely wouldn't have even encountered each other IRL. You get to see that perfect strangers really value integrity, community, and authenticity more than anything else, and that's a nice change from the inundation that comes from scrolling through web2 social media platforms.Â
đIf you could connect with one woman, who would that be and what would you say?Â
If this is a dead or alive question, I definitely would say that the woman I would want to most connect with would be Josephine Baker. She's been an idol of mine for years. I feel like if she had the ability to experience web3, she'd more than likely use it to help others, specifically children and the disenfranchised. I would tell her how she lived her life, encouraged and empowered me to live more boldly, sensually, respectfully, and unapologetically confident in love because of her story and how she moved throughout that journey. I adore her so much, and I do believe that she would definitely be worthy of having her own NFT project.Â
đąWhat piece of advice would you give to your younger self? I
I would tell my younger self to literally never give up on your dreams in succeeding with singing. That every closed door literally meant there was an even bigger open window just waiting for me to climb through. I would tell my younger self not to be in a rush and to care less of what others opinions of me are. Also, I would tell myself to never stop writing down my emotions, even if it didn't make any sense at the time, because eventually it would translate beautifully later on down the line.
I don't have any official music out on Web2 or Web3 YET. However, If you are interested in hearing me sing or simply would like to follow me and watch my journey, then please reach out on Twitter or Instagram @Sistalegz.Â
Thank you again for providing this opportunity to introduce myself to my peers. I am very thankful! LFG!!!!
